WALKING LESSONS: Take Your Bliss With You

(coming early Spring 2011)

Explore the basic skill of walking, the Svaroopa® yoga way.                                                 Using key poses to help release the spine and identify which muscles contribute to a      more supported walking style, you will learn to move with greater ease.  Discover how       to stand in your bones more fully to increase strength, balance, and stamina.                  Walk your yoga, and take your bliss with you.

Prior exposure to Svaroopa® yoga is beneficial but not required.

CORE CLARITY

Using the supported poses of Svaroopa® yoga, this three hour yoga immersion will help you to identify and release some of the tight, stuck places throughout the core which cloud your vision and keep you from tapping into your vast, innate reserves of energy and courage.       

You will gain greater clarity by cleaning out the "undigested material," both physical and mental, that clutters the path to the authentic Self. You will also improve digestion by creating more space for your internal organs, using your abdominal muscles more efficiently, and massaging the abdominal organs.                                                                  Eat a light, early lunch.

                                                                                                               

YOGA FOR YOUR BACK

Reduce back pain, improve flexibility, and relieve stress with this four week series. You will learn two home practice sequences designed to unravel the core tensions in the spine. This will help release muscle spasms in the back and create more space between the vertebrae. Let go of old aches and pains and expand your life.

 

STANDING TALL: Lean into your bones, find your strength

Applying the principles of Svaroopa® yoga to the basic skill of standing, this three hour immersion will help you to release your spine by finding the proper support of your bones, leg muscles, and abdominals.

Discover a deeper sense of balance, stamina, and inner strength that you can carry with you into your everyday life.

 

BALANCE

Bring a greater sense of balance to your life by exploring the seated and standing poses of Svaroopa® yoga.  Discover your innate balance by softening into your inner support rather than tightening to create a balance point.  Through the support of your bones, and leg and abdominal muscles, learn to release the tension along the spine.  Developing physical balance leads to greater emotional calm, steadiness of mind and a more balanced life.

 

CLASSICAL POSES

Take your Svaroopa® yoga to the next level as we explore some of the classical Hatha yoga poses in this three hour immersion. Deepen your understanding of the relationship between releasing the spine and increasing abdominal, arm, and leg strength. We will use familiar Svaroopa yoga concepts to bring us into the fullest expression of these more challenging poses.

 

SPINAL FLEXIBILITY

In this three hour workshop, you will use the supported poses of Svaroopa® yoga to identify and release some of the chronically tight, stuck areas in your spine while creating greater ease and fluidity along its entire length.  When you release the spine, physical aches and pains decrease, vitality increases, and your mind becomes calmer and more peaceful.

 

ABS REVISITED: Discovering the hidden power of the Abdominals

Learn to find and use your abdominal muscles the Svaroopa® yoga way, by releasing your spine!

Explore abdominal strength without creating spinal tension to improve digestion, circulation, and make space for the internal organs.  Likely side effects include improved mental and emotional clarity...

 

JOINT DETOX/PAWANMUKTASANA SERIES

Rejuvenate and detoxify with the complete Pawanmuktasana (“air-liberating pose”) yoga series, a systematic, joint-by-joint journey through the body, starting at the toes and working all the way up to the skull. It is a healthy and fun way to celebrate your body!

 

By releasing unwanted toxins from the joints, this extended vinyasa creates space, ease, and a greater sense of well-being throughout the whole body. Additional benefits include:

-   a heightened sense of mental and emotional clarity

-   a deeper sense of relaxation

 

PRE-NATAL YOGA
